If you’re dreaming of beautiful, uncrowded beaches on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, Mersin has some real gems waiting to be discovered. During our trip, we explored several stunning spots. These places offer clean waters and peaceful atmospheres. They provide a true escape from busy tourist hubs.

🌊 Bogsak Beach / Bogsak Island

Bogsak, a beautiful sandy beach known for its crystal-clear water and relaxed vibe. It’s perfect for swimming and sunbathing without the crowds you often find at more famous resorts. This place is settled in a small village that is not overcrowded.

At Bogsak, you can rent beach umbrella’s and chairs for couple hundred Liras which is about $10-20. This is totally optional. We travel with our own beach gear. You can set up camp wherever you find a spot. You don’t have to pay a fee or rent anything! Nearby Cafe’s will provide your favorite adult beverages and food when you are hungry!

Definitely ranks as our number one spot we enjoyed the most as far as clean and clear waters.

🌴 Taşucu

We also visited Taşucu, a charming seaside town with a lovely beach that feels welcoming and local. The beach area here is well-maintained, and you can enjoy fresh seafood at nearby restaurants while gazing out over the sea.

🏖️ Silifke Beaches

Around Silifke, we found several smaller beaches that are quiet and pristine. These spots offer the perfect balance of nature and tranquility, with gentle waves and beautiful views.

🌿 Yapraklı koy

Yapraklıkoy beach is another peaceful hideaway. Its natural surroundings and calm waters make it ideal for families or anyone looking to unwind in a serene setting. The waters were super clean and clear. One negative we had about this place was that it was packed! Way too popular. We asked to rent some chairs and the best places were already taken, the folks working there told us that it was all sold out at 8AM that morning!

🌞 Various Beaches in Ayaş

Finally, we explored several lesser-known beaches around Ayaş, a coastal area famous for its cleanliness and lack of crowds. These beaches are perfect if you want to relax with uninterrupted views and enjoy swimming in calm, clear waters. As you drive through the highway, you will see different beaches that you can stop and explore. In Turkey, beaches are public, there will be privately operated places that will rent out things like umbrellas and chairs, etc but those are all optional, you can unpack your camping chair and just chill at many beaches(which is what the locals do!)
